Milky Way galaxy over Joshua Tree National Pack
I can’t remember how old I was when I first saw Moonrise by Ansel Adams. But I do remember my father telling me that Adams was driving home from a commercial assignment when he whipped off the road to quickly make the picture before the light changed. It was then I realized that photography could be both my career and hobby.
However it would be at least another 30 years before I saw the effects of that conversation. Perhaps I was too young to strike the right balance.
Friday Julie and I drove out to Joshua Tree National Park, one of the darkest places in Southern California for the sole purpose of photographing the stars. What I found is beyond words so I hope the pictures do it justice.
