I’ve seen your pictures from a variety of weddings, but can we see a whole wedding day from start to finish?
This is one of the most important things you can ask photographers you’re interviewing so the answer is yes! You’ll want to make sure that we know how to take amazing photographs in any situation, of anyone and of anything. Wedding photographers need to work fast and be able to photograph in every circumstance possible and we pride ourselves at being able to do just that.
I don’t want to spend an hour taking family photos, do I have to?
Absolutely not. In fact, because of how efficiently we work on the day of and the added value we give you in preparing your family picture list, most family photo sessions on a wedding day are complete within 15-20 minutes.
When will we get our pictures?
We’re proud to have one of the fastest turn-around times in the wedding industry with your fully edited images being ready 6 – 8 weeks after your wedding and the majority of my couples with their wedding album within 6 months. We’ve even been know to show a few sneak peak images in 4-5 days!
Do you charge for travel or multiple locations?
Every wedding day is unique and some have more locations than other so we don’t discriminate or charge travel for it. If your wedding is more than 75 miles from Pasadena, CA then travel fees may apply but are evaluated on a case by case basis. We have extensive experience traveling and photographing destination all around the globe.
How many pictures do you take?
We don’t count! We just shoot. On average you’ll receive 70-100 images per hour of shooting. We do shoot more than that but we take out the blinks, test shots and duplicates leaving only beautifully edited image.
What do you mean up to 4 photographers?
We will use up to 4 photographers; not 1 photographer with 3 assistants but 4 highly trained, talented and qualified photographers. All of our award winning photographers have years of experience photographing events world wide.
Do you offer classes, workshops, tutoring?
Yes! Checkout our Workshop page for upcoming workshops. We also offer “One-on-One” tutorials. These are personalized/individual sessions with Michael and sometimes Julie. Please, contact us for more information.
Do you have a studio? Where should be take our pictures?
We prefer to photograph you in your environment rather than an impersonal studio. We love trying new locations and we’re not afraid to travel. We also have our favorites; so if you need help picking a spot just let us know.
Is there a perfect time of day for my photos?
Typical the first light of the day is the most amazing, however, there is also the “magic hour” … The 1-2 hours before the sun sets ’til about 30 minutes after the sun goes down. This does not mean beautiful images cannot be created at 11:00am… they can.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
We actually require a retainer… Under California law a retainer offers the best protection of your rights while allowing us to lock in a date for you.
Do you offer a military discount?
Absolutely, we value your service! Current United States Military and Veterans will receive 15% off the cost of their wedding package. And yes, you can use your military discount with another promotional price and save even more. You earned it. It’s our way of saying thank you.
How do I book a session with you?

What forms of payment do you accept? Check, cash or credit card?
We take check, cash or credit card.
How far in advance should I book?
We normally have weddings on our calendar more than a year out. However don’t be afraid to call to see if your date is available. Just because we have weddings on our calendar for next year it does not mean we are booked your weekend.
I don’t know how to pose. Will you help us?
Definitely! When we are photographing you, we don’t just click the shutter hoping to get a fantastic image. Getting the best image is a team effort between all of us.
Do you touch up all the images?
Yes we do. Every image delivered to you is post produced with our unique style of editing. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments and other corrections.
What rights do I have to the digital prints?
You have the right to reprint images whenever you want, wherever you want. However you may not sell your images for a profit or publish your images without the written consent of Michael O’Day Photography.
Do you have liability insurance?
Absolutely and we’ll be happy to provide your venue with a proof of coverage.
